I was wondering if anybody with good local knowledge knows the common crags used for RCI-type sessions (and assessments) in and around Dartmoor and more specifically Yelverton or Bellever?

Although growing up locally, I have spent the past few years away and learnt to climb in other parts of the country. Due to work this summer I have booked into a course back down home. While the award requires adaptability, more practice is never harmful. At Easter, I practised some rigging on granite at Sheeps Tor and the Dewerstone.

I would greatly appreciate any information or constructive criticism.

Cheers Max

Other popular potential options include Hound Tor, HayTor, Chudleigh Rocks.

There is also the possibility you might head to the Cheesewring on Bodmin Moor to rig the single pitch stuff on the right of the quarry.

My only advice with Sheeps Tor (where i did my assessment as well), is to be wary of rigging from some of the wobbly blocks on the top!
