Rockfax Description
The diagonal left-leading crack-line is tougher than it looks. Start on the right side of the tower below a prominent crack. Move up and gain the crack and hurry up and left along it to the arete. Continue along the crack to easier ground © Rockfax

βeta: Another superb but badly under-graded Moelwyns classic. How on earth is this rated HVS? For burliness (which is rather sustained), awkwardness (placing and extracting gear is less than pleasurable), and technicality (the move around the arete will challenge footwork, body position, and strength), this is much more representative of E1 5b territory! Even so, if this offering suits your palate (in our case it really does), the insufficiency of grade only promotes minor distaste. For us, compliments are due: it is a classic of its style, a Moelwyn gem. | ||
