In tonight's Friday Night Video from BMC.tv, we see GB Team member and BMC Ambassador Shauna Coxsey competing at the Boulder World Championships in Munich, Germany. The final event of the 2014 IFSC bouldering competition season, Shauna looks to perform well following her most successful international season yet - having won two Gold medals and finished 2nd overall in the Boulder World Cup series.
The video by Nick Brown and Ben Pritchard follows Shauna to Munich and gives an insight into the experiences of a world-class athlete on the international competition circuit. How will Shauna deal with the pressure of this one-off event, rounding-off a season of hard training, extensive travelling and competing?
Shauna Coxsey has just returned from a fruitful trip to La Pedriza, Spain, where she climbed two 8B boulders and an 8B+ in the space of just four climbing days.
Really enjoyed that. The scene where Shauna was getting her forearms massaged made me think of this: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=jybWpEN-U_s The key to success - hire a man servant!
IFSC rules question: what is the green marked zone outside which Shauna puts her hand at the end of the cool outward-facing bridging sequence at 07:15? Clearly it isn't marking the in-bounds part of the wall, because she doesn't get disqualified for putting her hand outside it.
