Reading Climbing Centre Open Day Success!

© Reading Climbing Centre
Last week saw over 200 people head down to the soon-to-be Reading Climbing Centre to see the centre plans and give us their thoughts!

On June 9th, Reading Climbing Centre was introduced to the Reading climbing scene with an open day at the site. At present, there's not a lot of climbing to be had, but the plans are done and the massive mezzanine floor is in place. The centre will house 85 climbing lines and 600 square feet of bouldering so will be a great addition to the local climbing community.

The open day was a great success, with people coming to see the wall plans and give us their thoughts on the centre. A lucky few won prizes including an Annual Pass for the centre and a top of the range Mountain Equipment sleeping bag. Everyone went away happy, with free cakes and tshirts for those who got there quick enough!

Reading Climbing Centre is the latest addition to the family of walls including Manchester and Harrogate Climbing Centres and will be opening in September 2010. A big thanks to all who came along to the open day and for all the interest in the wall so far. Keep your eyes on the website, on Facebook and on Twitter for more developments!
