New Arc'teryx Big Wall, Sport, and Trad Harnesses for Spring 11

Brand new for the 2011 climbing season, Arc'teryx proudly introduces an entirely new collection of high performance climbing harnesses constructed with the company's legendary Warp Strength Technology (WST). Hyper-light and improbably thin and supple, these harnesses break new ground in safety, comfort and performance by integrating new laminates and fabrics into the swami belts and leg loops while reducing the overall weight of the harness.

Wider, lighter, and more comfortable, every harness in the S11 collection features a new self-locking anodized buckle, new leg loops, new face fabrics, new tie-in points, new design lines, and new drop-seat elastic – resulting in a harness that conforms to the user's unique body shape and moves lightly with the climber to bestow a liberating sensation of wearing nothing at all.

First introduced three years ago, Warp Strength Technology moved the dial when it came to climbing harness comfort and now Arc'teryx brings WST fully into the big wall, sport, and trad arenas, with the addition of nine new harnesses.

Some highlights from the new collection include the new B.360a (pictured £150), S.220LT (£80), and the R.275LT (£90) harnesses.

A big wall harness featuring a super wide swami and adjustable leg loops, the new B.360a provides all day comfort for hanging on the tallest walls. Supple WST materials and construction are durable, breathable, and designed to be as unobtrusive as possible. Multi-pitch specialists will appreciate the variety of racking options with the six color-coded injection molded polyurethane gear loops, 10 ice clipper slots and the burly haul loop.

Minimalists looking for the ultimate in featherweight design and superb fit will appreciate the performance margin gained with the incredibly thin and supple S.220LT harness. Brand new for 2011, this super light, 220-gram sport climbing harness sheds even more weight while gaining a fresh shape in the swami and leg loops. The redesigned conical leg loops are made of a unidirectional Vapor Mesh that provides bridging support in one direction and complete flexibility in the other. Lightweight, supple, comfortable and highly packable, the S.220LT also features an improved webbing tie-in point for critical durability.

Adding to its most versatile and popular harness category, the new Arc'teryx R.275LT is a functional, lightweight harness perfect for exploring the world of rock climbing and even some light mountaineering duty. The regular width swami belt takes advantage of Arc'teryx ultra light and super strong WST to add support. At just 275 grams, the lightweight, easy breathing Vapor Mesh leg loops provide warm weather climbing comfort and feature Sure Fit elasticized connectors to accommodate a large range of leg sizes.

Excelling in the gym, at the crag, or multiple days on the wall, the Spring 2011 harness collection from Arc'teryx eclipses former standards and establishes a new high-point in harness performance so the climbers that use them can continue to push their personal limits.
