If you haven't heard of GORE-TEX® Active Shell yet, it is Gore's most breathable, lightweight fabric and has been designed for moving fast and light in all weathers, whether you are running, biking or climbing. We have been given 8 jackets that use this new laminate for you to test before they hit the shops. All you have to do in return is review them for UKClimbing.com.
GORE-TEX® Active Shell Laminate is a lightweight 3-layer construction designed to be worn next to the skin or over a high wicking baselayer. The membrane itself is significantly thinner and uses a new lamination technique that integrates the backer textile into the membrane – this means no adhesive and increased breathability. At a maximum weight of 400 grams these jackets are incredibly lightweight.
Gore has worked closely with the manufacturers' designers to ensure that the intended lightweight and highly breathable garments have no superfluous features.
