The Mammut Mamook
As Mammut launches its new range of footwear for the coming season they've come up with an interesting way of demonstrating the 'under-the-bonnet' technology that goes into their range of multifunction, walking and mountaineering shoes and boots.
The image, taken at Mammut's Head Office in Switzerland, shows the 'anatomy' of one of their stripped-down Mamook GTX boots. At its launch in 2008, the Mamook GTX scooped the prestigious OutDoor Industry Award and has gone on to win fans across the world with its combination of low weight (1720g per UK 8.5 pair) and functionality. It is suitable for Mountain Hiking, Mixed and Ice Climbing, Multipitch Rockclimbing and Classic Alpinism
As the picture shows, the Mamook is loaded with features including their unique Motion Control technology which cradles and supports the foot, preventing foot fatigue and risk of injury.
The Mammut Mamook GTX boot is the lightest crampon compatible mountain shoe for technically demanding climbing. This lightweight made from abrasion resistant Microfibre Racing and Dropstop textile provides great flexibility and has strong lateral support, thanks to integrated Mammut®Motion Control. Cushioning Hybrid Shell supports exactly and only where necessary. Asymmetric lacing takes the anatomy of the foot into consideration and means more pressure and precision on your big toes. The waterproof Gore-Tex® Insulated Comfort Footwear membrane, the very grippy Vibram® Teton sole with carbon insole, the situationally-individually adjustable 3 Zone Lacing system complete this quality shoe.

The Mammut Mamook
Despite its Swiss design, the Mamook, like all Mammut footwear, is designed around a British-shaped 'last' or mould which means it is ideally suited to the British foot shape.
