What Is Unicore?

Ropes featuring UNICORE bind the sheath to the core without affecting the ease of use and suppleness of the rope, even under the most adverse conditions sheath slippage is reduced or totally eliminated, especially in such instances as top roping or active belaying. Should the sheath be cut or torn on a rope featuring UNICORE the sheath and core will remain bonded together, markedly enhancing safety in some situations such as rock fall or rope damage over a sharp edge. 

With the UNICORE process:

• Sheath slippage is eliminated
• Allows safe escape should the sheath be cut
• Makes rope cutting easy with a simple blade without any heating
• Reduction of shrinkage in water by more than 50 %
• Beal ropes are also available with Dry Cover and Golden Dry treatments to reduce water absorption in wet conditions
   

Beal has added more ropes to its UNICORE line. From a diameter of 8.6mm and up to 10.5mm, there is now a UNICORE rope for every type of climbing.

Diablo 9.8 - Fluid running to perform even better when pulling slack and clipping than 'classic' ropes of smaller diameter and lower weight.
Diablo 10.2 - Fluid running with a wider diameter to provide reassurance, a slick sheath and supple handling give the sensation of using a much thinner rope.
Wall Master VI 10.5 - Specifically developed for indoor and centre use. Great handling with a thick sheath for greater resistance to abrasion.
