DMM Engineering currently have the following vacancy for a CNC Setter/Charge Hand.
Night shift 10.00pm to 6.00am.

The Role:
This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional and experienced CNC Setter who is hands on and likes to lead by example. Reporting to the CNC Supervisor the successful candidate will be a team player within a small but busy department, using modern and up to date CNC machine tools. It is essential that you are self-motivated with a positive and proactive approach, with the ability of working under pressure.

Key Tasks:

  • Work with Manager or Supervisor to organise weekly work schedule for night shifts to ensure tasks are handed in a timely manner and also to ensure that status on current work load is known.
  • Operate the machine safely and competently in accordance with manufacturers operating instructions and ensuring that good safety & housekeeping standards are maintained. Report any malfunction or unsafe conditions to CNC Supervisor.
  • Setting various CNC milling machines and rotary axis’
  • Solving problems to keep production flowing
  • To use precision instruments like micrometers, Vernier Callipers, Tool Pre-setters and a range of Gauges i.e. Slips, Plug and Thread gauges.
  • Understanding the properties of Materials and metal cutting theories


Essential to your success in the role will be the ability to demonstrate:

  • Proven track record of 5 year’s experience in a CNC machine shop environment
  • Experience of modern CNC /milling engineering shop environment and modern manufacturing techniques
  • Problem solving
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Work to a very high degree of accuracy at all times
  • Ability to deal with challenges/problems and new products on a regular basis
  • Ability to read and edit ISO Programs


Desirable:

  • Previous experience of Mazak machine tools
  • Experience in a Charge hand role


Training and Development
Full training will be provided for on company products, procedures, correct use of Machinery, and Health and Safety.

Hours
38.75 hours per week, Sunday to Thursday.
