At Marmot we have been working on our climbing trouser collection for a few years now and the time has finally come when we are finally ready to launch our brand new cragging pants.
Legwear is perhaps one of the most important garments for a climber that isn't PPE or shoes. Finding the balance between function, comfort, fit and of course style, is a tricky thing and so we turned to our highly accomplished team of MarmotPRO's to help us fine tune our brand new collection.
The Mono (mens) and Leah (womens) are our all new trousers – aimed at any climber looking for legwear that won't hold them back when they are going for a big onsight, that will work with them while they work-out whilst training at the climbing wall and will look good heading to and from either.
We blended 64% Cotton, 32% Nylon and 4% Elastane to create the fabric in the Mono and the Leah. The result is a crag-friendly stretch cotton. Ultra-soft to the touch, durable to protect against scuffs on rough rock and stretchy to allow unrestricted movement.
In addition to the trouser, we also launched a short version in both. Perfect for your warmer summer sessions and those sun kissed winter trips abroad.
The trousers are adjustable in the leg (men's with draw cord, women's with roll-up and button) and the fabric delivers factor 30 UV protection and has a gusseted crotch for maximum mobility. We used a simple 'athletic' wasitband in the Mono and chose a more flattering 'wide waistband' for maximum comfort in the Leah.
Keep your eyes peeled for the chance to get your hands on a pair of Mono or Leah pants in one of the upcoming Marmot articles on UKC.
