Marmot UK - Sales and Training Representative, Recruitment Premier Post, 2 weeks @ GBP 75pw Marmot is a manufacturer of renowned technical outdoor clothing and equipment with a distribution in 60 countries worldwide. To support our business in the UK and Ireland, we are looking to recruit a new Sales and Training Representative.

Marmot UK is a branch of Marmot’s European subsidiary company and is responsible for the second largest territory in Europe. The brand has achieved consistent UK growth and market penetration, with a well established distribution through major outdoor chains, outdoor speciality retailers, web dealers, and since 2013 a partnership store in Ambleside. Our UK showroom and office is based in Milnthorpe, Cumbria on the fringe of the English Lake District.

The position will start immediately and key responsibilities will be: Managing relationships and business with existing accounts, identifying and developing new business, pre-season and inline sales, delivering year round in-store training, running on-hill and staff training events in cooperation with sponsored athletes, and supporting UK marketing initiatives. The role is countrywide so we are flexible on location.

The ideal person for this role will already be working in the outdoor industry. They will need to demonstrate a successful pedigree in sales, and also show skills in delivering training, event organisation and relationship building.

They will understand both the technical and wider outdoor market and have an appreciation of brands and their relative strengths and weaknesses. They will be passionate about technical outdoor clothing and equipment, and able to show an excellent knowledge of real world use, construction and technology.

They will be an enthusiastic and active mountain sport participant with regular experience of at least some of the following: Climbing, mountaineering, snow sports, mountain based athletic events and mountain biking.

They will be an effective communicator, well organised and self motivating. They will be used to working to targets, keeping accurate records and regular reporting. They will be comfortable working flexibly within a small team. They will be computer literate and hold a passport and full, ideally clean, driving licence.
