Premier Post: Climbing Wall Manager and Instructors Based in the Lake District Ambleside Climbing Wall was opened in December 2010. It is a unique facility located above a shop with in the town centre. The facility is compact, and comprises of a 3m high boulder room and a 10.5m high featured main wall including 16 lines for both lead and top rope climbing.

Owned and operated by the retail and expedition company Adventure Peaks. The wall strives to keep climbing assessable to as many of the community as possible, whilst introducing novices to the fun and excitement of indoor climbing, in a safe and professional manner.

The wall is a member of the Association of British Climbing Walls, and is operated to industry best practice. It has always been run by a small and dedicated team of qualified instructors and enthusiastic climbers. Working hard to maintain the same high levels client satisfaction offered by Adventure Peaks. The team are the walls greatest asset. They have fostered a welcoming culture whilst providing an opportunity to see all achieve through indoor climbing. The wall offers competent climbers the use of the wall unsupervised, whilst novice climbers take advantage of courses, lessons and 'have a go' session. Outdoor rock climbing and abseil session are occasionally run, and operate under Adventure Peaks policy.

Deputy Manager or Manager
One position will be appointed according to experience & qualifications.

Duties will divided between the Manager and Deputy Manager
Key Holding
Delivering Staff Training
Managing and Implementing Health and safety policies
Organising the Walls activities
Staffing Rota
Maintaining systems and standards
Overseeing and assisting in the delivery of NICAS
Customer Service, bookings and Telephone
Climbing Instruction and Coaching
Development of new products
Route Setting

Experience & Qualifications required
SPA or CWA or higher
First Aid

Salary £16,000 to £18,000 based on experience & qualifications

Climbing Wall Instructors

Part-Time £10 per hour inclusive of holiday pay (8-16 hrs. Per week) including evenings and weekends
Full Time £14,000-15,000 per annum (inclusive of 28 days paid holiday)
Must be CWA or higher or close to assessment level
