I started climbing when I was 9 or 10, I would go bouldering in Fontainebleau every wednesday with a group of friends from school and the PE teacher, but did not take it very seriously. I did this for 2 years and then did not climb at all until I moved to North Wales in 2010. That's when I got addicted! I started going to the Indy climbing wall, a 2 minute bike ride from my house and progressed pretty quickly. I started at Christmas time, and by april I was bouldering V4 and leading indoors 6b. Then I gathered some quick draws, bought a rope, a climbing guide book and started climbing outdoors... the new addiction! First outdoor climbing was at Penmaen Head on Intruder F5. I then ticked quite a few of the A55 and Anglesey sport routes. I then got interested in trad and had already seconded a couple of routes (including Spectre HVS 5A on the Grochan). SO I bought a set of DMM Wallnuts and threw myself onto a Severe, Chris corner at Penmaen Head. Unconventionally, my second trad lead was Mynydd Marian VS 4c, which looking back now, was pretty hard for a second trad lead, but I think I didnt really understand the grading system yet, and had just climbed a F6A+ so thought I may as well. Since then, I've ticked off a load of multi pitch trad routes in the pass, notably Diagonal HVS 5a and Brant direct HVS 5a. Since my recent introdution to the Peak District, I've made a lot of weekend trips from London. I climbed my first E1 in May 2012 with Evening wall E1 5b and then The Link E1 5b in the bag. I broke E2 in August 2012 with One in Every Port - Screda Point (practiced it on top rope first), and then confirmed it with an onsight of Sacré Coeur - Blackchurch, a great climb that really pushed me. I'm training at the the climbing wall 4-5 times a week, aiming to get stronger and better to push my trad grade further. I'm keen to climb a lot more in the Peak District as well as other areas in the UK, to enrich my climbing experience. So far, I've really enjoyed climbing on Rhyolite in the Llanberis pass, and on peak grit. I have just recently discovered the delights of climbing on the Culm Coast and love it! I have family there so go there often and intend to climb as many of the routes as I can. Want to climb as much as possible, don't mind slummin it by campin at the base of the crag, just want to get out there and get it done!
