I like adventures and these usually involve outdoor things like kayaking, walking or climbing. I'm curious about everything and so am willing to give most things a go and also have a desire to live my life and see the world.
I love climbing. I love the mental and physical challenges it presents me and have a massive desire to improve and reach a respectable grade. My parents both love hills and mountains and dragged me round Scotland when I was small, they climbed in the 60s and 70s so I don't know why it took me until 31 to start climbing regularly. So far I have dabbled in trad and sport but just want to do more of everything, as often as I can. There is so much still to learn and still to experience!
I just wish my climbing ability was even half the level of my enthusiasm. I really would pretty much do anything if I knew it was guaranteed to make me a better climber!

Everything. It is all I think, talk or dream about (almost).
What shiny thing I can buy next.

Interests Outside Climbing
I like making stuff. This ranges from the interior of Phyllis Van (Phyllis Paddlewagon von Discobus) to wooly hats and fingerless gloves to chalkbags and tool rolls, to shortbread and cake and even the odd drawing or painting.
I'm not too shabby a paddler but haven't done much for about a year since I became obsessed with climbing. I'd really like to do more rivers but geography is not playing ball.
I hillwalk a bit in summer and winter, would really like to do more snowboarding and cycled more when I lived in England. I run occasionally. I want to move to the mainland so I can improve my climbing and do lots of other things too.

Anything Else We Should Know
I'm an archaeological geophysicist by training and computers are the bane of my life. I only go to work so I can buy more shiny things....
I always want to be out doing something, it doesn't really bother me if the weather is shit if I am wrapped up properly. I hate feeling like I've wasted a day so would always rather go look see than stay in bed! If there is a half decent forecast, I always want to be out climbing.
One day I hope to get in my van and embark on a very big adventure; I'm just not sure I have the balls!
