Leeds University Union Mountaineering Club Gear Sec 08-09

In trad, I'm now less bothered by grades than I used to be and am perfectly content cruising around between VS and E1 so long as the climbing and company are good. Would be happy to push a bit harder for particularly inspiring positions and locations.
Think a lot of people climbing in the UK are too keen to pigeonhole themselves as "trad climbers" or "sport climbers" or "boulderers". These Isles are blessed with glorious annual seasons and what better way to take advantage of them by varying your climbing through the year – using the short, cold days of Winter to push personal limits bouldering and then spending the long summer days on the high mountain crags basking in sunshine and good company.
"Going to the right place, at the right time, with the right people is all that really matters. What one does is purely incidental." – Kirkus hitting the nail square on the head.
Best Climbing Experience
Sitting atop Napes Needle shrouded in mist.
Doing Valkyrie at The Roaches is up there as well.
A day at Stanage including leading The Right Unconquerable.
2008 trip to Skye. Beautiful weather and climbing.
Reaching the break on Archangel.
Climbing on Arran
The Cuillin Ridge Traverse in a day. Reaching the ridgeline at the top of Choir' a' Ghrunnda and seeing the sky lit up in orange fire as the sun rose was about as memorable as it comes.
Doing Zeppelin in El Chorro
