Mastering engineer in Suffolk. Mostly climb on gritstone, but like to venture further afield, all over the UK and abroad as much as I can. 2014 has been my best year of climbing, not by number of routes, but by quality. Have a baby on the way, so we'll see how 2015 works out...

Very occasionally sport climb. Once went bouldering.

Best Climbing Experience
Well, after about 17 years it's getting harder to have those experiences which leave you psyched and smiling for days after. Perhaps, like a romance, the early days and 'firsts' are the most exciting period, but with maturity can come a depth of relationship (with climbing) that satisfies more profoundly. With that being said, for me it comes down to doing fun things in beautiful places with great friends. That could be challenging classic test-pieces, or relaxed days out.
In recent years I've particularly enjoyed my onsights of Wings of Unreason, Left Wall, and Suspense. In 2011 my battle and final victory with Quietus was pretty fun. My recent weekend hit on the Badile Cassin was my most enjoyable 'type 2 fun'. Ticking Rubicon quickly was satisfying, as a weak non-sport-climber.
Any time I get to climb with my wife is golden too.

Anything Else We Should Know
I've been to Africa for 5 months of the Hot Rock 07 trip. Started on new year's day. Would be back on the Big Red Truck tomorrow if I had the money.
