Veteran prodigy, based between Leeds and York. Like trad grit and single pitch cragging most, but revert to sport climbing in summer. Don't really like Multi-pitch mountain stuff.
I'm trying to get into sport climbing more seriously...
My profile picture sums up what usually happens when I try to go on Sport climbing holidays!
I'm always interested in meeting new people and partnering up. I try to get further afield whenever possible, seeking out honeypot climbs of huge legendary status in Wales, Lakes & Scotland, although this is nearly always with my wife or a more regular partner.
The majority of the time I'm up for Peak, Yorkshire and Lancs quarried grit & classic Limestone Trad & Sport during summer and natural Gritstone routes & bouldering in winter.
I'm available midweek quite often.
My main passion in climbing is to engage in a clean onsight climbing ethic in as pure form as possible, although I have recently begun to embrace a willingness to headpoint/redpoint harder routes.
I like acting like a proper crag rat; ie.. jumping around barefoot with top-end rock boots attached to my waist; whoooping loudly at the top of single pitch testpieces; eating loads of bananas; and pooing in clumps of heather.
I'm trying to grow up but it's a long process!
Please don't take everything I say on UKC seriously or i'll hunt you down and shoot ya!

Best Climbing Experience
My best climbing experiences are where I'm challenged at the limit of my abilities, climbing routes that have been screaming 'fuckin do it' at me for ages and finally there I am thinking wow, I'm 'fucking doing it'.
The moment I love most is where i'm in the middle of it all and start to question why i'm there and whether I have what it takes to hang on for the successful clean ascent, then for some reason I push on through it and hence experience a sense of fulfillment and accomplishment having actually finally 'fuckin done it'.
I love to challenge myself climbing, but I prefer sailing a luxury yacht close to the wind, rather than rowing a punctured dinghy into a perfect storm!! ;)

Anything Else We Should Know
I don't like seconding routes which i'd like to climb onsight and often ask for this to be avoided somehow.
I'm always more than happy to repay the gesture of stripping routes... If you don't like that style of doing things then i'm not the best person to partner up with!
I generally only Multipitch climb with partners who I know well.
I don't think it's big or clever to fall on gear, I avoid it like the plague!
I like ethics and all that, but reserve the right to ditch them whenever it suits me... Like, if i'm about to die, or I fancy top-roping something!
