I live and breathe climbing - I'm never happier than when I'm on rock, snow or ice!

Have been instructing since I dragged my less-keen mates out when we were 14 - just always seemed a natural thing to do; have always found I can get as much out of providing an experience for others as I do from experiencing it myself. Have set my sights on becoming a guide.

Have a pretty reflective attitude to both climbing and life; always on the lookout for new experiences and love to be able to draw on these and apply them to new situations - probably why I enjoy the problem solving aspect of cimbing.

Best Climbing Experience
Climbing itself is an experience of a lifetime, and I hope to spend an entire lifetime experiencing it...

Seeing shooting stars while night-climbing at the Dewerstone; taking someone I was head-over-heels in love with on their first big multipitch route; climbing with the same person years later, now as a couple and still head-over-heels in love; topping out on Mont Blanc with my best friend after years of climbing together; laughing in the pub about what an excellent day we've had and knowing that there will always be another challenge just around the corner...

Interests Outside Climbing
Living out of the back of the van, relaxing in a hammock, reading (just about anything), making and watching a fire, cooking, eating, wine, whisky, philosophy, physics, the meaning of life, the universe and everything...

About My Photography
Point and shoot - until I dropped my camera down Les Drus :-(
Got a new one now, and have devised a leash for it!

Camera update - fell over holding it and broke the zoom...wasn't even anywhere exciting. Awaiting insurance claim result.

Anything Else We Should Know
If you are looking for a climbing instructor in the Plymouth area, I am usually busy during school term time, however with enough notice then I may be available (if not, then I will often know someone who is).

I do know the Plymouth area well, so please feel free to contact me if you need information or a climbing partner.
