I spend my leisure hours walking the fells and mountains but have not rock climbed since I was very young. I never climbed well anyway. I do climb mountains and love the alps and the Lake District, glaciers and snow but do not do anything spectacular like ice climbing although I would love to learn.
I have three sons, one loves climbing of any description, kayaks and makes films and animations, another rock climbs and loves motorbikes and the third is a break dancer, sorry, bboy.
I am interested in lots of outdoor activities and find the forums on UKC very good.
I have recently changed my job so that I can be semi retired. I am now a mobile site manager for two sheltered housing schemes in my local area.
In October 2007 I achieved a dream that I have had for a lot of years. I did the Everest Base Camp & Kala Pattar Trek along with other family members albeit very slowly!
Now I want to save up for another trek but where to is the question....

Kala Pattar, the view of Everest and all the surrounding mountains is amazing.

About My Photography
Recently bought a new Digital SLR and now want to learn to use it on manual. It has so many automatic settings you don't need to bother but I know I will benefit if I take the trouble to learn.
