southern sam
I started in early climbing in January 2007. Was taken climbing outside by varying climbers from around March 07 and did my first trad lead at the end of May 07.
My primary interest is in trad, mainly multipitch routes in the mountains. Dont mind a bit of sunny bolt clipping in Spain or grit stone bouldering.
Have ambitions to do lots of Scotish winter, ice and alpine climbing as to me mountainering is what climbing is all about.

Best Climbing Experience
My early outdoor climbs with Chris and Wei, I owe alot to them for getting me out of the climbing wall.
Cairngorms 2009 with Frank, our first winter climbs. The Ben in December 2010 with Dan, my first winter climbers on the Ben.
The Midi Plan Traverse with Oscar, complete epic but in hindsight what an experience - storm, lightning, lack of aclimitisation, movie style alpine ridge jump fall wow what a day!
Trips to the Peak with Bobby, Rol and my other half Kate. Bouldering or routes grit is great!
Font 2009 with Kate, a boiling summer but stayed in the fantasic Maison Bleau then again font 2010 with Rob staying in carparks, cool enough to climb. What a magical place.
Plus many many others, I tend to find my self most at ease dossing in vans or in refugios on climbing trips.
