Northern Mountain Monkey
I was a frustrated mountaineer living in the flatlands of Lincolnshire so I decided to go to Sheffield Uni. I have extensive experience of Lake District mountains in all conditions and have also lots of experience of Scotland at Easter and I can't get enough!!! Having lived the dream in Scotland, play hard and climb hard (often)! I am now a Geography teacher in Sheffield.
Best Climbing Experience
Summiting my first Alpine peak, I could have stayed on the top forever! and also lots of excellent days out in Scotland at Easter. Leading Raven Crag Gully in -5 C no wind, blue skies and bomber neve and fat ice. Climbing the Svolvaergeita in Lofoten and just being in Lofoten! Leading first E1, summiting the Nadelhorn 4,327m which was my first 4,000er, topping out in spindrift and a whiteout after a great route on the Ben. Something I have wanted to do since I first saw the North face. Leading all the pitches on 0.5 gully in good conditions with my best mate as his first time up the Ben and only his 5th winter route! Leading Inaccessible Gully in the Lakes, best pitch I have led on anything!
