Professional non-sufferer of fools. A spade is a spade, woe betide anyone who calls it a shovel...

Inveterate bowline user.

Late convert to sport climbing, finally completed an epic multi-year siege of Empire of the Sun at Anstey's (you can take a good whipper if you come off clipping the last bolt!). Afficionado of bouldering in damp polished limestone caves (Pixies Hole, the Parisella's of Devon..). But the best days are on the north coast, tradding on the walls of Sharpnose while being warmed in the autumn sun. :-)

Best Climbing Experience
Greenland, summer 2003, virgin mountain range and 5 weeks to play! Waking up every morning there to the best view in the world... except the couple of days we woke up & it was dark cos the tent was buried under fresh snow! :o)

or abbing into Huntsman's Leap for the first time, the butterflies in the stomach about whether we'd be able to climb out or end up jumaring back up the ab rope...

Anything Else We Should Know
I'm often free mid-week so if you're in Devon looking for a partner drop me a mail through ukc (just don't mention daddyhole, meadfoot or that polished little place near the Dewerstone (sheep's tor?) as possible days out...)
