In January 2006 I had the first of four operations to rebuild my right leg , the last of which was in November 2007.

On the 06/01/08 I did my first winter climb since the operations, out on Helvellyn crampons, ice axe the full works .

My climbing history, well I promised my surgeon I would give up rock climbing , but I am still going to climb mountains from my favorite hill , Helvellyn to Scotland and Wales , Austria and Mont Blanc . I dream of retuning to them one day ......Big Hell

More Injuries and operations would follow , one to the left elbow damaged jumping off the climbing wall at Preston, this required surgery to re a line the tendon, then stupidly in 2011 whilst running up our stairs I broke a metatarsal in my right foot .
And again in 2013, descending Froswick in the Lakes , the meniscus in the left knee went snap, so another operation to fix this which also found a hole in the knee cap, resulting in the Hemicap Knee implant on 27 March 2014.

Well Its still great being out there !

Due to the injuries and the on set of old age , I have had to give up the climbing , the last time I was up high any where was on Helvellyn last summer (2014) ..... only this is not strictly true as of 2020 I am still out there .
