To be born in Wales,
Not with a silver spoon in your mouth,
But, with music in your blood
And with poetry in your soul,
Is a privilege indeed.
... from the poem "In Passing" written in 1967 by Brian Harris
"Dwi'n un o hogia'r garreg las - yn wreiddiol o 'Stiniog". A first-language Welsh speaker; happily married to a horse-mad South Shropshire lass, with three sons who get their existence partly from me and their good looks, wit, charm and intelligence from their mother ....
Currently hard at work with the new 'Welsh Grit' (Rhinogydd area) guidebook.
Best Climbing Experience
Life isn't measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the number of moments that take our breath away. So going to the right place, at the right time, with the right people is all that really matters. What one does is purely incidental.
Moderator for 15 crags, checking missing climbs added to the logbooks: Craig y Merched, Garreg yr Ogof, Craig y Fan, Rhinog Fawr South Faces, Craig yr Eglwys, Ponterwyd Quarry, Craig y Ffridd, Creigiau Llandeglau, Cerrig Gwynion, Caban Coch/ Craig Gigfran ... plus 5 more, Craig y Foel, Creigiau Dolfolau, Craig y March, Lluest y Graig, Clegyrau Graig Isaf
Interests Outside Climbing
Overland exploration - vast empty spaces, deserts especially, hold a huge fascination. Otherwise an eclectic mix of music, films, books, Welsh Cobs, MTBs, Africa, Utah slickrock, SRT caving, canals and Land Rovers.
