Bob the Bear

I have been climbing for over 40 years. Nowadays I can only lead up to HVS, but still have a desire to get back a bit nearer to the grade I could climb at in my youth - mainly because it will give me a lot more routes to go at locally.
I find sport climbing very enjoyable (especially on Kalymnos). It's nice to experience something different, even though trad climbing is still the best for me.

Interests Outside Climbing
Used to be a rally driver but gave up last year due to lack of funds. I will start up again WHEN I win the lottery.
I used to do a bit of fell running but knee problems put paid to that a few years ago. I still get out on the fells several times a week (I have an energetic dog who likes lots of walks) although I rarely get on the high fells these days. I can get up them quite quickly but coming down is another story!
