Going to be hitting south wales this month, Pen Y Fan, Black Mountains etc, whats the best routes out there, and any wild camping spots that people know off?

In reply to nick_curtis01: Bit of a broad question. Why not walk from Abergavenny to Brecon (or even Swansea) - work the route out on the OS, carry water, plenty of wild camping en route. Just pick a spot on the escarpment. Might even see you there!

Just don't camp there in a strong south-westerly, I've been blown over walking there!

In reply to nick_curtis01: Have a look at this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/South_Wales_Traverse I ran it last year and its a beautiful route. You can adapt it to suit but apart from a 10k road section its all cross country and you get a real feel of the majesty of the Beacons.
