I picked one of these up about 6 months ago to see if it helped with light pollution from sodium lamps. I had a go with it in the Julian Alps last year, but results were inconclusive.
Anyway, I thought I would experiment again last night.
This was taken from the pavement outside my house, which is on the edge of Yate, a medium sized town about 15km from Bristol. There are 4 sodium streetlights within about 50m.

I didn't think to take a control, but from experience I can tell you that you would see a bright yellow image with maybe 2 or 3 stars peeking out.
Motion blur is due to not tightening the ball head on my tripod properly and it drifting a bit :) |
