We're due to cross the Thorung La towards the end of October. Does it ever get snowed up at that time?

In reply to mypyrex:

Think it is unlikely, we went over at the end of November and there was no snow. But you could get unusual conditions.

I wouldn't worry too much, it's such a popular trek, that if you were to get a bit of snow a path will soon be trodden out.

In reply to mypyrex: I've done it in November when there was quite a bit of snow. It was no bother. My strongest piece of advice would be: don't leave Phedi too early, as many do. If you are walking in the dark, you will miss some of the most sensational views you will ever see, and the claim that after a certain point in the day it always gets very windy just isn't true.

In reply to mypyrex: Did it early November. There was not that much snow and in any case there was a well trodden path through it. Absolutely still on the top and down the far side, not a breeze.
