/ Car dehumidifiers... Gear, But for cars.

Righto,

Does anyone have experience with dehumidifiers powered off the car 12v outlet?

Im thinking of one for trips where its either too cold or too midgey to sleep in the car with the windows open in order to prevent the condensation issues.

A mate of mine had mentioned that his old friend had one in his transporter that VW made but I've not found any more info than that on them.

Experience of and opinions welcome. Cheers.

These are usually Peltier effect coolers with a drip tray attached. They are very power hungry and will kill your battery in no time if the engine isn't running. OK to use on hook up or with a leisure battery if you know you are driving far enough to fully recharge in the morning. Otherwise its AA time to start the car in the morning.
