 Topic - Somewher to park/sleep in Kendal

I'm driving to Kendal Film Festival this weekend. Was hoping to park my van somewhere within stumbling distance of the pub so I can sleep in the back.
Can anyone suggest a quiet road that might be suitable?
If you don't want to publicise a great parking spot that you try to keep secret then just email me!
