/ Most photographed route in the world?
Dream of White Horses (81); Gargoyle Buttress 56; Strapiombo 33; Strapiombante 31;
and Aegialis a mere 27
So which is the most photographed route?
There's 402 images of The Nose on Supertopo.
Photogenic, less than VS in a popular location I would have thought? Flying Buttress at Stanage?
Bet there´s even more pictures of the Matterhorn out there!
North Face of the Eiger?
North Face of the Cima Grande. Postcard bought by every tourist that has ever been to the Dolomites.
Thanks for all the suggestions. using Google image search, I get
691,000 matterhorn switzerland
209,000 The Nose, El capitan
205,000 north face of eiger
127,000 north face cima grande
the majority of the above can discounted though since they are mostly crag shots, not climbing shots
141,000 hilary step, everest
51,000 Separate Reality, Yosemite
10,500 aegialis, kalymnos
2,040 flying buttress stanage
1,520 kachoong, arapiles
1,310 Dream of white horses, gogarth
444 Gargoyle flake,bamford
So as far as real rock routes are concerned, it looks like Separate reality wins so far, or the hilary step if you like that big mountain stuff. Aegialis does do well though!
65,800 Midnight Lightning, Yosemite
Demo Route Sennen?
Shouldn't that be E0.324000?

The error is with the sample you are using to test the claim that "Aegialis is the most photographed route in the world".
Your quick analysis shows "what is the most photographed route for which people have uploaded pictures to the UKC database".
These are not one and the same thing!
