Mine Carrera Banshee XXX
Yeah, me too. That exact model aswell..when i'm not on that chariot I have these to chose from:
http://www.bikeradar.com/gear/category/bikes/road/product/review-van-nicholas-mistral-apex-12-45930 (with Aksium's)
not used it for a week with good weather and free time not crossing paths
Still on my old faithfulls - bike on left is 7 years old, bike on right is 3 years old.
Bike on right looks and rides better with wheels from bike on left but not practical for everyday riding.
Last year's Yosemite trip means it will be a couple of years before it's new bike time for The Ent.
A 2009 Cannondale Synapse with Mavic Cosmics and a 1996? GT fully rigid mountain bike, not sure of the model off top of my head.
Nice bikes and some really nice pics there.
Seven years and you've still not cut the forks down to the right length!
Got one of these...
The Miche chainset is black on mine and I change a few things.
Mavic Elipse wheels with Veloflex Record tyres
Ye olde style 3TTT Rotundo bars with white tape
White Cinelli graphis seat post
Black Look delta pedals I stole from my (mothballed) road bike.
Van Nicholas Mistral, with hope pro3 on mavic open pro wheels
Gary Fisher hifi pro for off road
and Pinnacle cx for everything between and the daily commute.
Turner 5 spot with claret on the cross bar
Pinarello Prince (03) with Record and Cosmic Carbones, now in the annual winter strip down (sort of like Marc C's nesting of the gear)
Planet X Superlight training bike
Cinelli Experience training bike for at the burd's
Redline BMX I don't use on account of being too old, too crap and hanging around bike parks is a bit "Jimmy Saville"
Random track bike purloined from Bambi and resident at my mates chalet in Beuafort for the time being.
All I need now is the bloody time to ride one of them!
Ribble Gran Fondo with Campag Veloce groupset and Campag Zonda wheels
Bill Nickson winter audax (Ribble / Dolan clone with BN transfers) with mixed old model campag Mirage / Xenon/ Veloce transmission and brakes and Zerolite wheels.
Trek Slash 8 (X9, X0 , Fox Talus 36 etc)
Cotic Soul ( Full XT RS-Revelation)
Focus Cayo (Ultegra Token Wheels)
Cannondale Optimo CX (commuter)
One of these (but not the lawnmower).
Niche me up real good: 29er fixie based on a Cotic Roadrat.
Mine the day I bought it 4yrs ago. It now looks a lot more abused, and nowhere near as clean.
As of today everything nothing, one way back from work rear free hub body on road bike just let go, which i need to replace asap, roady is custom built rare as rocking horse shit 853 Guyzer
then i have cove g spot freeride as in profile picture which is in pieces as am going to get paint removed and checked for cracks and powder coated over winter
also i have partially built steel inbreed 29 er, but need to get some new spokes as localish bike shop sold me ones which were a mm or so too short so need to strip down and rebuild wheels again this weekend, should be running for monday.
I also have a cannondale hardtail frame which horatio on here chopped in for an exchange of a turner 5 spot i used to own, he polished it up and a local paintshop professionally lacquered it it looks well mint.
I'm probably going to build a downhill rig next spring for next summers alpine adventures.
If I wasn't laid up with a bad back, I might be out riding this instead of gazing longingly at it in the corner of the bedroom...
too many brakes for my liking
Last weekend at Glentress this:
Next weekend if the weather is kind perhaps this:
Me too. Great bike, although mine is the stock spec with Mavic Askiums.
Also got a Cube X Race Pro, a Genesis Altitude 10, and lurking in the back of my shed and rarely used is my 2004 Specialized Enduro. It got a lot of use until two years ago when I got my Genesis, and now I've got a road and a CX I rarely ride anything that would challenge the Enduro...

Criminally, I don't ride a Yeti SB66.
Built it to race in the alps and its been in the garage ever since.
2010 Lapierre Zesty 714
2007 Spec Tricross
1999 Gary Fisher Big Sur
My rather old and knackered Kona Blast (bikepacking in the gloom and drizzle last weekend) https://twitter.com/TobyinHelsinki/status/269740527753232384/photo/1
The Mistral is a great bike.
I've got the Aksium's, and got the black VN bartape put on (can't stand the white). I've also got a pair of these for it:
I share them with my 9 sp Tricross. Light and tough as hell..and promotes the use of the word 'flange', whch is only to be encouraged...
For Enduro: a Kona Coiler 2005, solid steel eehhhm aluminium!
For the streets: a Chesini Olympiade 80's. that is solid steel!
A Marin Rocky Ridge hardtail
A Pearson Hanzo steel fixie, which could be quite contemporary if it tried, but is too encumbered with lights, rack and mudguards to be anything other than functional.
A Trek Discovery Channel something with 105
2002/3 Santa Cruz Bullit
Gets plenty of 'Old Skool' nods from the youfs
Dolan Multicross, 4 weeks old enjoying it
Proflex 855, 15 year old a1 condition and easily keeping up with the kids
Storck Fenomalist, Dura Ace kit and Lighweight wheels.
Dolan Ares, Ultegra Kit, RS80 wheels
Dolan Mythos, Ultegra Kit, RS80 wheels.
Isaac Photon TT Bike, Sram Red kit, various wheels depending what day it is, mostly Zipps.
Old skool Orange P7, Deore kit, some Mavic wheels.
4 antiques in various stages of restoration, details on request and probably enough old frames and spares to build a few more bikes as well. Yes I'm a bike hoarder.
I'm not too proud to own up to riding a Giant Defy with Sora shifters. Its my first ever 'modern' style road bike and its been a revelation to me - loving getting out on it.
Got fond memories of my old Proflex 954 & 957
(not such great memories of rock hard elastomers on the 954!)
How are you finding the shifters? Annoyed you can't reach the thumb button from the drops yet? ;-) Have the same on my Boardman, have been having some issues with the left a bit, but it seems we have finally reached an 'understanding' Now I just need to try and sort the squeaky brake!
have you tried moving the brake/shifter a slight move may make all the differance
Because its the first road bike I've had, I found the whole shift cum brake thing taking some getting used to. Its only now I've been using it for a couple of years that I'm starting to notice it (now my wife has upgraded her bike :-) ).
What I find more noticeable is how much better the resting hand position is on top of the brake on the better / newer shifters - much more of a pronounced grip.
Giant Boulder MTB with uprated bits (wheels brakes, bars etc)
Trek 1000 road bike (uprated wheels and drivetrain) - more than boss enough for me
Gary Fisher ramp BMX - not ridden for about 10 years (as someone said above, hanging at bike parks in your 30's is a bit Jimmy Saville)
Original Raleigh Burner (1983 version) mag wheels, original tyres and tubes, all stickers still intact etc...
My current steed is a Cube Agree GTC Di2 with Mavic Ksyrium Equipe wheels
Have done c.3,000 miles on it this year and I have to say it's superb. Electronic shifting is definitely worth the money and not a gimmick.
giant defy advance , but have stripped out the Shimano group set and fitted sram , this is because i much prefer sram , and they are lighter , also swapped the wheels for some mavics which i must add a really good and are super light for the cost . .
On One 456
On One Inbred s/s
Bianchi Sempre Ultegra 2012 now in hibernation.
Spesh Secteur Elite 2010 is now my winter/commute bike.
In order of age:
One of these for shopping/touring etc. Quite heavily customised from the photo with rack, front carrier, various fixtures and fittings
One of these for eating up the roads:
and one of these for getting muddy with:
All great in their own ways!
