Great article and sounds like loads of fun. However someone needs to make a comment about student groups overcrowding honeypot crags and they were fixing ropes. ;-)
I love the idea of 3 cash strapped students who'd never done it before going for a goal like that - and doing it.

Oh man I am so glad I lost my bet with Rob regarding the end result of this trip. Well done.
Hah, what did Rob bet? There isn't that much easier free-climbing but you could certainly find fun stuff to do if you were prepared to aid more of it.
