 Topic - New winter Ramsay round record

Finishing at 8:57 pm last night, Tom Phillips, UkCer, climber, triathlete and fell runner, chopped 3 hours off the fastest time completing the 55mile 24 munro round in 26:57.
Snow to 600m, with variously firm neve, breakable crust (lots of) and powder and -10c meant conditions were truly 'wintery'. All round mountaineering skills were needed including traversing the airy ridges of Carn Mor Dearg in the dark in fell shoes, reversing a grade1 gully onto the Grey Corries and finally the Mamores ridges were combined with total commitment, alone at night for some sections - (he only had two support runners).
