 Topic - good routes round S Lakes

Having ordered a MB guide for Lakes but probably too late for my trip in a few days, wondered if anyone had suggestions for routes especially round Torver/ Coniston.
Routes encorporating Walna Scar Road obviously a good option.
Mainly off road, 2-4 hours, don't mind a certain amount of ascent/ descent, technicality.
