My 'ex' climbing partner from America is visiting and we had planned a day out in the Lakes, wanted to show him something really great, why I love it here, good views, bit of scrambling maybe or walking.
Striding Edge was top of the list, but as MWIS forecast is for 35-50mph winds looking for other options that will be a bit more sheltered, but still have a good wow, probably walking.
Any suggestions ? South Lakes are easier coming from Lancs.

just a suggestion - top of Great Langdale, go up to Stickle Tarn and do Jacks Rake (easy scramble) on Pavey Ark, then round to Harrison Stickle. If the weathers' good and cloud is high then the views down the valley to w'mere are great from the top.
In reply to sarahkeast: The Coniston round would be good. Good hills, cracking views (when the weather co-operates) and some industrial heritage with the mines. Can be shortened or modified by adding a scramble if you wish. Some good pubs in Coniston for a post-walk pint too.
