Hi wheres the best place in the Peak district for a few mates to go on a fairly hard walk with hills, good scenery and possibly a cheeky pub nearby??

In reply to luke-t: you could do edale skyline starting ans finishing at the Cheshire cheese pub in hope and call into the nags head in edale on the way round. That would take in kinder south edge, mam tor, loose hill etc or if that s to short head ver to kinder downfall then back via upper edale rocks , brown knoll, rushup edge. Alternatively start in hathersage, head to stanage, mosscar lodge, derwent edge, Yorkshire bridge ( calling to the pub!) back across stanage moor to hathersage and a few cheeky pints in the little John .

This is a good shout - although I'd do it clockwise, starting up Lose Hill and then following the skyline all the way around to Win Hill (or cutting back before Win Hill if you're knackered by that point...)

Another good one is to park at the Ladybower Inn, get the bus up to King's Tree, walk out to the North along the upper Derwent Valley to Margery Hill, and then back more or less along the ridge to the pub.
