/ skiing and ski touring around london
Given good snow cover might be worthwhile ?
Not done any touring inside the m25 but when used to live in hanwell spent many happy hours on my x-c skis on the local golf course. Good rolling terrain, relatively smooth, no fences and no annoying gates like you get on country paths. Am now living in the chiltern and looking forward to heading off for a ski down and around the chess valley this afternoon minus avalanche paraphernalia ;-)
thanks for all the replies. may be worth it if it keeps up.
I did a nice tour around clapham a few years ago to get to work!
South Downs posibly your best bet, if the roads are clear.
Hampstead Heath surely? It even has hills.
Alexandra Palace maybe:
you can get a good 3-4 turns in.
....or along the runways at Heathrow by the sounds of it.....
