 Topic - Endura cycling shorts query

Hi
Just got a bargain deal from the Charity Support shop where I work (Glenfield Hospital).
2 * Endura Mountain Biking shorts. Still in wrappers
2 * Endura Lycra padded cycling shorts. Still in wrappers
£10 for the lot
The Lycra shorts have some press studs around the waist band and I wondered if anyone could enlighten me as to what these are for?
