Perhaps an overdramatic title (apologies) but if I read this petition correctly, climbing organizations have just been kicked off the region's governing conservation body.

Is UKC investigating?

In reply to Stone Muppet:

There is little doubt that climbing has a massive impact in font. The shitting, the camping in the carparks, poff, chalk. But then if they did ban it, it would largely just be ignored, the french wouldn't stand for that, and nor should they.

Absolutely, though I doubt the climbers are responsible for (most of) the unsavoury refuse at Bascuvier. Still, booting climbers off the management committee or whatever it is (does anyone know what exactly?) doesn't seem like a sensible way forward.

In reply to Stone Muppet: It's not just climbing representatives that have been kicked off, if I read it correctly. Also equestrian, biking, walking, in fact all user associations.

Just signed the petition.

Cheers
Andy
