Hey,
I've got some of the sticky rubber tape used on Petzl Nomics to create the upper grip.
2 1 metre lengths for £5 posted
or 2 2metre lengths (should be enough to do two whole 50cm axes if you'd prefer to tape up the whole shaft) £8 posted
Petzl sell this stuff for about £7 per metre.
