Hi

Advice/reccomendations please for a cottage for two. We are looking for somethig nearish to some excellent crags for our first visit to the lakes for a week in early July.

Much appreciated in advance

In reply to Edd Reed: before we moved up here we always used to use Wheelwrights, they're based in Elterwater & specialise in that area - which puts you in strolling distance of Langdale. We rented several small cottages (usually dog friendly) and they were all of a similar nice standard. One that sticks out was Farra Grain in Little Langdale, spectacular bed view of Weatherlam.

I highly recommend this place - http://www.heartofthelakes.co.uk/cottage-details/7027

A 15 minute walk from ambleside, so a short drive (20 minutes) from lots of climbing, great walks up fairfield horseshoe straight from the cottage, and absolutely stunning views from your lounge. By far the best place I have stayed in the lakes.

Wherever you go, have a great time :)
