In reply to Scott_vzr: Only if you are north of the border :(
In reply to Scott_vzr: Thanks for the heads-up. BBC2 Scotland is on Freesat and I presume Sky and iPlayer, even for us southerners.
Scott_vzr on 07 Apr 2013
In reply to Martin1978: Ok, can you view it live ? or does the IPLAYER know you are down in the Shires......
martinph78 on 07 Apr 2013
In reply to Scott_vzr: A mates going to record it for me, it is on sky :)

It would be quicker for me to drive to Scotland than use iplayer with my internet connection! lol.

Cheers, Martin

Download it overnight.

Not enough actual rescue stuff on the hill.

Night rescue footage - no reflective stripes on hoods, helmets, jackets like canoe or bike kit, would that help ?

That's why I pay for a tv licence - excellent film

Second that.

Loved the quote ' The visibility's down to feet as opposed to ... tens of feet'.

In reply to Scott_vzr: 'it's a bit chilly up here' - master of the understatement that bloke!! Good film.

Yes it was very well put together. Brought back a couple of tough memories and I realised I'd been avoiding Coire an t-Sneachda. Need to put that to bed and head back in there soon.

Ooh! Is it still about?

Seemed to me there was a lot of wandering around in a blizzard in the dark searching in the wrong area. I'm guessing this is a fairly accurate reflection of the effort involved for the team members.

In reply to dek:

I think so. Not sure if its been seen within the last couple of weeks though.
ring ouzel on 07 Apr 2013
In reply to Toby S: So. You me and Dek and anybody else that fancies it (but not the Rescue Team!) will go find a snowy owl. :-)

Yes, apparently so, living off Ptarmigan and other things so I'm told..!

A veritable geeks outing. If we're not careful that lot from Glenmore Lodge will follow us and give us wedgies and nick our lunches.

In reply to Toby S:

The snowy owl was spotted and photographed yesterday by a member of this forum!

In reply to Ron Walker: There has been one on the outer isles on its own for several years looking for a mate. Maybe they are the same owl or if not I hope they meet up and if compatable mate.

Great programme and well presented. I have a copy of the "Inside Story" programme from 1995 also and this is very similar.

Very much agree. Just watched it and I really appreciated the non-media-hype stance that it was presented with.
