I'm trying to convince work (a school) to build a bouldering facility for the students to train and help develop Outdoor Education. The building that it could go in is an old squash court - so it wouldn't be massive at this stage but if successful there could be future plans to expand. It could also be opened to the public to use. However I need some sort of business plan to show it would be a welcome resource to the local community of climbers. My intention would be that it was able to pay for itself and its upkeep. Could I ask those for whom it would make a difference to take a few moments to complete the online survey?
It would be great to have some decent bouldering 12miles away rather than 41miles! It might even mean I get fit again..
It really is the dead zone for training... a good well managed bouldering wall would make a big difference.
Arms like these !!!
The Armoury crossed my mind as well Jimbo . I would use the venue occasionally too and have done your survey , I'll send a link to a couple of friends as well .
In terms of putting bouldering into an old squash court, this is something that's was done in Prestatyn Some time ago. The Sports Centre is on a school site, but open to all-comers.
Perhaps you could talk to them for help? They all seem very amenable and helpful when I visit...
