Ok, just over a week out - I neglected to add to this thread last week!

This I'm very happy with (including the 'favourite' from Tim Parkin of all people!), and it's an image I've had in mind for years, but it's extremely hard to get the correct combination of all the elements (not least because Bog Cotton is almost invariably found in damp hollows and will therefore never be amenable to sunset backlighting!)

Bog Cotton Sunset (2):
http://www.flickr.com/photos/drupka/9212094720/

I've tried to go back to get a better (sharper and with less out-of-focus foreground) version when it's been less windy, but the light has not been as good (and the midgies have been murder - I can cover myself up - but they turn up in shot!)

Whilst this shot achieved what I was after it also shows a fault I know I have, which is to use wider apertures when sometimes I'd be better off using something a little narrower. I was after getting the caterpillar's head in focus; but if I'd chosen a focus point half way down the caterpillar and a narrower aperture I could have got the whole thing in focus whilst isolating it from the background and stem in the foreground.

Thanks. :-) Yes, all patterns in the sand. For scale, they were about 30-40cm in length. There was a fairly flat area of sand just above them, so the drainage was very leisurely, giving the patterns time to develop.

I photographed something similar just along the coast at the same time last year:

In reply to TryfAndy: Lovely conditions in the Peak at the weekend. Unfortunately I was not able to climb, but managed to get these at Chatsworth on Sunday morning.

Here's one (well it's 12 images stitched) I'm pleased with; which I took yesterday.

The surface of the reservoir changed about a minute later as the wind picked up erasing the beautiful reflection. Was good to get out with the camera briefly as work and courses has meant 3 weeks without any photos!

I've struggled for a while taking pictures I'm excited about but I like this one from Lochnagar last weekend;

Took my hand off the tripod during a long exposure to look around at the view... clatter!! Tripod head broke, ND filter broke and lens zooming has gone a bit sort of crunchy!

You want to post this image on the UKC Galleries. I am sure it would score very highly. i think that it's a cracker!
