Just got back from Mont Blanc and have discovered I have managed to rip the outer part of my Paramo Aspira Trousers (the inner is still fine). I was wondering if I sew up the outside will it still be waterproof as Paramo dosn't use a membrane layer as such?

Thanks

Yup. A good repair will make it nearly as good as new... Some of my Paramo gear looks like a quilt after several years of being bashed on rocks and sharp things.

Phone Paramo and they will send you off cuts to patch it with. Just make sure you only sew through the outer layer! They will ask for the code off the bar code to match the colour.

In reply to Boulderdash86: I've done a successful repair by unstitching a small section of nearby seam then putting a patch on the inside using spinnaker tape. You can get lots of different colours from on-line sailing supply shops. The tape works equally as well on tents.
