/ NUMC - Yorkshire Trip
Newcastle university mountaineering will be in the Yorkshire area this weekend. Visiting Giggelswick south, Robin Proctor's Scar, Rylstone, and Crookrise. We'll be splitting the 25 of us between two crags a day. We have a really high leader to seconder ratio so we shouldn't be top roping!
If you have any problems or want to do a route we're on come talk to us and we'll be happy to compromise.
Sorry for any inconvenience caused
Rylstone this weekend should certainly weed out anyone who's not serious about climbing!
If you're going to Crookrise you could always point a few people at Deer Gallows as well.
There's a couple of good jamming cracks over there which will sort out the freshers.
Given the predicted numbers are for only six pairs between two crags on each day, I can't see that it would cause any bother at Crookrise or Rylstone.
More likely that the whole lot will end up at Gigg South because of the miserable forecast.
Doesn't look like any bother at all - the Yorkies probably won't know they have been hit.
I was up at Bowden last year when NUMC arrived. No issues apart from all of their plastic cups blowing away; might have limited the cocktail consumption.
Struck by the division between bolt-clipping limestone or classic grit: there is some good trad limestone in that area as well!
