According to the TFL website only fold away bikes are allowed on the route I want to transport my bike in the mornings. As anyone any experience of how strict they are enforcing this. I am thinking of taking the wheels off my hybrid and carrying it, its more or less an empty train as well,(6am) just have to get it out of the Elephant & Castle station

In reply to Bernard Shakey:

You could always get a soft bike bag you can roll up and carry when you get there?

In reply to Bernard Shakey:
If you carry it at shoulder height and go through the ordinary barriers, no-one will challenge you. If you have to ask the staff to open the wider barrier, they'll probably query it. But yes, wheels off, and in a bag or wrapped in a sheet. Try it and see. I've always got away with it on the dozen + times I've done it.

Thanks, yes I think a soft bag might be the way ahead
