Climbed most of 'Fingers Ridge' on Saturday, had to ab off in failing light as we had to wait for a party in front. It's a popular route and one of the few low-mid grade climbs that can be done at the moment. Several parties were also seen heading for 'The Message'.

The Coire, and Fiacaill Buttress in particular, looks good and it was very cold but the snow is unconsolidated and unhelpful, and the turf is unfrozen. Both of these things made 'Fingers Ridge' less enjoyable than it could have been. I for one will be waiting for when there are more options open.

Andrew.

Its always wise to wait for good conditions.

Hidden chimney is a good call for an easy route that's not reliant on turf in these type of conditions also.

I think routes that don't rely on turf and are by far in the main on rock are fine to climb in these type of conditions (and so do many far better and much much more respected climbers than myself)
