/ Conditions int Dales this Xmas
It'll be easier to walk on the limestone areas (Malham, Ingleborough etc), which drain faster than the peat covered areas associated with grit stone.
A few images from a trip up Ingleborough yesterday (Sat 21st)
A quick walk up onto Pen-y-Ghent Xmas day.
Conditions where very good, great views and not not too wet on the paths. A covering of snow on the tops made for a very wintery scene and the with the sun low in the sky the light made fro some great photo possibilities , the forecast isn't too good for Friday but the weekend doesn't look too bad.
Fingers crossed :)
I was just looking at your website, scrolling down a bit - where is the tree on the limestone pavement? Such a beautiful picture!
Glad you like the image, I haven't been there recently so was quite pleased with the results.
The tree is on the south west side of Ingleborough, follow Fell Lane towards Ingleborough and once through the gate near Crina Bottom head north into the pavement (White Scars). You can't miss the tree once on the pavement GR 3721 4738 (ish). Hope this helps
My trips north are few, and wrestled with difficulty out of a crowded diary; I've added this place to my wishlist!
